Program Manager: Food Fortification
NATURE OF WORK:
Helen Keller International seeks a dynamic and collaborative individual to lead our Food Fortification Portfolio in Tanzania. The Program Manager will report directly to the Country Representative and be the primary person responsible for the development and implementation of the fortification work plan and activities includingproject planning, management and implementation of the program.

Position Title:    Program Manager Food Fortification
Reports directly to:    Country Representative
Collaborates with:    HKI Tanzania staff including Monitoring Officer, Finance Officer, District Councils, TFDA, TFNC, MOHCDGEC, HKI implementing partners, project beneficiaries and the communities

MAJOR TASKS AND ACTIVITIES:
•    Work closely with Country Representative to oversee technical implementation of HKI’s Food Fortification portfolio.
•    Develop monthly, quarterly and annual work plans, reports, and detailed budgets for the overall program.
•    Coordinate external technical support, research, and data collection.
•    Coordinate in-country partners including the Government decentralized institutions and specialized institutions as appropriate
•    Facilitate relationships between stakeholders including partners, communities, and beneficiaries of the project through HKI’s role on the National Food Fortification Alliance.
•    Lead the daily management of the EHFP project, ensuring effective project implementation.
•    Oversee and help build capacity of the local partner(s) to ensure work is being conducted in a high quality manner and to HKI standards
o    Manage trainings for government partners and stakeholders
o    Manage partners in design and launch of marketing programs, contribute to interviews and road-shows with technical input
o    Make regular supervisory visits to ensure program activities are operating smoothly
o    Provide as needed technical support
o    Request additional support as needed (M&E Training, Financial management training, HR training, etc.)
•    Provide HKI and project stakeholders with relevant updates, reports, and success stories and lessons learned on a regular basis.
•    Organize the donors’ field visits and key meetings and ensure proper follow-up
•    Participate in office management meetings.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
•    Master’s degree in public health, social services, nutrition, or related field with at least 5 years experience in implementing a similar program.
•    Strong technical skills in behavior change communication, Fortification, policy development, ornutrition programs.
•    Strong experience in development politics at local, regional and national levels.
•    Experiences with managing development projects/programs with International NGOs, bi and multilateral donors.
•    Strong analytical skills and results-results oriented
•    Experiences in multi-stakeholder and participatory approaches.
•    Experience in capacity building of government extension workers, local CSO’s and NGO’s, work with industiries a strong plus
•    Experience in Equity of gender and diversity approaches
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Kiswahili and English.
•    Eligible to work in Tanzania
