PROGRAM COORDINATOR, BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN PROGRAM AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL ALLIANCE
Under the directions of the AIHA/Tanzania Country Director the program coordinator is a responsible for supporting implementations of a biomedical engineering technician training program in Tanzania. Based out of Dar es Salaam, the P.C will be working as AIHA program coordinator overseeing implementations of its activities with Tanzania partners. The P.C will work collaboration with other PEPFAR – Funded partners, the ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender and children (MOHCDEC) and other national stakeholders
ROLES AND REPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate and oversees implementations of biomedical partners and program to ensure timely implementations of the program activitiesWork with AIHA/HQ Staff, Tanzania partners other identified partners to develop and maintain program work plan. making changes and updates a appearanceManage biomed budget assist in development, editing, finalizations, and packing of program Curriculum, reports and materialSchedule, coordinate and participate in program training and meetings
TECHNICAL SUPPORT
provide BMET technical assistance through trainings, mentoring and support Tanzania partnerswork to build the capacity of national and district level BMET workshopsparticipate and present AIHA in the laboratory technical working group service as an information’s source on program policies, procedure and administrations guidecomplete other duties as assigned
MONITORING AND EVALUATIONS
provide support and assistance to partners to develop and submit timelyAIHA and partnership annual work plan as well as quarterly reportsUSG funder reporting requirementsCoordinate and participate in SIM and other USG requirement s neededDocument outcome, success, special activitiesAssist tracking annual PEPFAR 3.0 TARGETS
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
BSc. Medical engineering or BSc in electrical or mechanical engineering with a background in medical engineering with a minimum of 3 years experience BMET training experience requiredFinancial management experience, particular with regard to budgeting and forecastingPosses strong knowledge of Tanzania biomedical and laboratory structures and GOT management structuresExtensive knowledge of or experience in program coordinating an support proceduresExperience with U.S government donor compliance and reporting
ABILITIES
Must be a very dependable and detailed orientedExcellent verbal and written communications skillsAbility to develop and maintain close relationship with various stakeholdersMust be willing to travel in-country and problem solving skillsAbility to train and mentor health workers of different cardersPersonal and professional maturity and judgmentWillingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlinesFluently in English and Kiswahili is required
