RURAL WATER & SANITATION SPECIALIST
We are now accepting applicants for Rural Water and Sanitation Specialist candidates for rural WASH projects located throughout Africa and Sub-Sahara Africa. This project aims to accelerate sustainable improvement in water and sanitation access and improve hygiene behaviors in the target districts. The project aims to execute tasks which contribute to four distinct types of outputs:
1. Increase use of improved household sanitation;
2. Strengthen national and district water and sanitation governance;
3. Expand key hygiene behaviors at home, school, and health facilities; and
4. Improve management of small town water supply and sanitation services.
Job Responsibilities:
Overall management and direction of the CDM Smith team and sub-consultants
Ensure that the team is working, exclusively, within contractual boundaries of its contract
Ensure that WASH activities are coordinated with the local government, donors and NGOs working in the sector
Ensure that the team pro-actively manages the overall schedule (constrained within the project time frame)
Abide by CDM Smith’s quality management program (QMP)
Lead WASH inputs and support to national WASH sector coordination and sanitation policy dialogue.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in from an accredited university
At least 10 years professional experience, with at least 5 years of project management
Previous experience on rural water and sanitation projects required, preferably in sub-Saharan Africa
Prior experience on a donor funded project/program preferred
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
Experience on international projects required, prior experience in Africa is an added advantage but not required
