Employment Opportunity at Sokoine University Graduate Entrepreneurs Cooperative (SUGECO)-Driver (1 Post) :Deadline 1 2th August 2016

Sokoine University Graduate Entrepreneurs Cooperative (SUGECO) is a cooperative established in July 2011 registered under Tanzania Cooperative Act No 20 of (2003). SUGECO in partnership with Farm Africa Tanzania have a two years project on Nutrition awareness and cash crops value chain (NACC) which will be implemented in Kilosa and Gairo Districts, southern Morogoro. The project targets to Improve the livelihood of rural communities by supporting smaliholder farmers (SHF) in the region, to grow and sell high quality cash crops specifically Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato (OFSP) and Quality Protein Maize. Alongside improving agricultural knowledge and inputs, the project Will also address barriers which contribute to household malnutrition by promoting consumption of nutritious crops. SUGECO will implement this project with support of Farm Atrica and funding from BIG LOTTERY FUND. We are seeking for two Project Officers and one Driver to support implementation of this project.

Position: Driver (1 Post)
Reports to: Project Coordinator
Duty Station: Kliosa, Morogoro and Gairo Districts
Duration: 2 years Fixed Term
Duties and Responzlbliities of a Driver
• Driving the project vehicles to different project sites as instructed by the project coordinator
• Transport employees and other individuals such as official guests In a safe and responsible manner. Keep the assigned vehicles free from damage, in acceptable condition and consistently clean in a manner which is consistent with the project image and report mechanical problem to the Administrative officer
• Advice the project team on the safety measures to observe before any travelling in different locations and ensure the vehicle is In good and sate working conditions.
• Fill in the log sheet indicating the trip’s details (date and Kilometres covered) and seek approval (movement authorization) before any trip
• Maintain an excellent driving record and regularly check the basic vehicle condition by daily inspecting all the key vehicle alerts (oil levels, tyres pressure etc.)
• Supports the project team by providing administrative assistance (e.g. filling arrangement or photocopying) when the need arises
• Perform any other functions as will be assigned by the project coordinator in writing or verbally.
Qualification and experience
• SUGECO is seeking for multi-task personnel to take over the rote of project driver and office assistant.
• Minimum holder of form four certIficate of secondary education from recognised private or public school
• Diploma or certificate in Transport Management, mechanics, or related field is an added advantage
• Must possess a valid class C driving licence with good driving records and ethics and not less than three years of experience in professional driving with reputable organization
