An enterprising Eye Specialist Clinic in Msasani Dar es salaam is searching for suitable and ambitious candidates to fill in the vacant post of Anesthetist. This post is a full time job with a permanent contract which will be reporting into the Clinic In-Charge. An attractive compensation package will be offered to the successful candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess and prepare patients before surgery
- Testing Blood Pressure (BP), Blood Sugar (BS), Pulse and Breathing rates
- Determining the effects of the medicine used by patient with respect to the level of anesthesia to be applied
- Correctly mark the eye which is to be operated
- Read clearly a surgical consent before a patient, and make sure it is signed appropriately before surgery
2. Prepare medical equipment for any emergencies (emergency kit) to be ready for usage as required
3. Perform anesthesia injection (retrobulbar block) to the eye which is to be operated
4. Being ready to work on any emergence, during or after surgery (medical emergency interventions)
5. Communicate to the patient on what needs to be done after surgery, including medications
6. Record all data correctly in the data management system
7. Attend internal and external meetings as needed
Minimum Qualifications/Experience:
- Diploma in Clinical Medicine or Nursing with a certificate of Anesthesia from recognized institutions.
- Registered by the relevant authority
- 1-2 years of experience working in Theatre
- Experience in anesthetic eye injections (retrobulbar block) minimum 100 patients
