Foxes’ Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust (Foxes NGO) is a registered Tanzanian Non- Governmental Organization whose primary aim is to provide shelter, sustenance, education and medical care for orphans and foster families in the Mufindi district of Tanzania and to curtail the spread of HIV/AIDS. The overall goal of the NGO is to enable the community to care for all children in the community in an appropriate sustainable manner, as well as to prepare the next generation to become the great leaders of tomorrow. Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust is hiring a tailor/ and sewing school teacher who will teach our students how to sew different kinds types of designs and fashions as to the current market.

This Position reports directly to the Head of Administration

RESPONSIBILITIES: Position description

1. Teaching the students embroidery, knitting and use of sewing machines with different designs
2. Preparing lesson plans for every semester
3. Testing the students in both theory and practical studies
4. To oversee and take good care of teaching instruments and equipment in the school
5. Instruct students on maintenance of machines and equipment until they are able to perform maintenance themselves
6. Conducting researches on new styles and fashions and reporting them to be included in the syllabus.
7. Creating rules and formalities for classroom behavior, daily activities and invigilating during exams and tests.
8. Compose and mark tests/ and exams for the students
9. Conducting researches and finding solutions to different kinds of challenges facing the students and the community that surrounds the school
10. Advising the leader on how to improve the syllabus and advanced development of the school.
11. Ensure the local store is stocked, clean and prepared for patrons
12. Train students in management of a sewing business, and customer service
13. Ensure that students learn basic English skills
14. Train students in life skills and conflict management
15. Perform all other duties assigned by his/her superiors.

Knowledge, Skills and Aabilities.

1. Applicant with good spoken and written English will be considered
2. Applicant must pass a practical skills test to show tailoring ability
3. Applicant must feel comfortable working with children, including advising youth on life skills, behavior, peer groups, ethics, and morals
4. Preferred age of Applicant should have the age of 30 years and above
5. Applicant needs to have at least 3 years of prior teaching experience
6. The applicant should be ready to leave live in Mufindi for the time that he/she will be working at Foxes Community and Wildlife Conservation Trust.
