Local Consultant Wanted in Arusha , Tanzania

                             
PYXERA Global, an NGO based in Washington, DC will be managing a Global Pro Bono program in Arusha, Tanzania, scheduled to take place in July 2017. PYXERA Global would like to hire a consultant currently residing in Arusha to help with program management and provide project and logistical support to the selected team of corporate employees from March through August 2017.
The selected consultant’s main responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
ACTIVITIES
Assist with identification and selection of local clients and develop Scopes of Work (SOWs) for the program that are aligned with specific areas of intervention identified by PYXERA Global and/or our client(s)Facilitate meetings with potential local clients in English as needed during PYXERA Global staff scoping tripParticipate in conference calls in English with corporate volunteersCoordinate the Welcome and Final Event(s) for corporate volunteer groups and participating local clientsAssist in procuring accommodations and transportation for volunteers in Arusha as needed on arrival and for the duration of their stayOrient new program participants upon arrival in Tanzania;Manage assignment, work, and travel logistics for corporate volunteer groups while they are in Arusha.Act as the on-the-ground interface between PYXERA Global and local partners in ArushaAct as a logistical and informational resource for corporate volunteers and troubleshoot on problems they may faceCoordinate Client Orientation, Welcome and Final Events for corporate employees and local client firms/organizations;Correspond with PYXERA Global headquarters program staff and other stakeholders to assure satisfaction on the part of the Volunteers and our partnersMonitor and advise on security arrangements for volunteers when they are in Tanzania.Participate in the regular evening meetings with corporate volunteersPrepare financial and final program reports
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Experience in project management and in leading multicultural groups;
Required:
Must be based in Arusha, Tanzania.College degree in international relations, communications, project management, organizational development, NGO management, or related fieldExperience working with cross-cultural teams and/or skills-based volunteer programsAbility to multi-task and manage diverse tasks simultaneouslyFlexible and able to work in a team as well as individually with limited supervision.Exceptional writing skills and ability to develop scopes of work with limited supervisionStrong organizational skills and attention to detailExperience in virtual and in-person presentation skillsKnowledge of one or more critical topics in global development (i.e. entrepreneurship, youth education and empowerment, ICT)Knowledge of at least one specific technical area related to PYXERA Global’s programs and services (pro bono, leadership/talent development, public-private partnerships, monitoring and evaluation, corporate social responsibility, etc.)Exceptional customer service, communication, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work in teams and alone, and demonstrated a commitment to creating opportunities for improved livelihoods preferred.
SALARY: 
This is a part time consultant position with an estimate timeline of 4-6 months. Pay is based on past experience and the type of work required for this position.
