VACANCY

The University of Dar es Salaam invites applications from suitably qualified, competent, experienced, dynamic and motivated Tanzanians to be considered for immediate employment to fill the following vacant post:
DIRECTOR OF INVESTMENT AND INCOME GENERATION (1 Post)
Qualifications and Experience
Holder of Masters Degree in Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Business Administration or equivalent from a recognized and reputable institution with at least ten (10) years working experience in investments and income generation.

Duties
(a) Markets University facilities (e.g. investment land, landed property, housing) in consistency with University policy;
(b) Searches for investors on University land and other assets owned by the University;
(c) Seeks opportunities for the University to invest in profitable corporate ventures (e.g. in stock exchange, shares);
(d) Builds and maintains an accurate database of all categories of potential and actual investors;
(e) Oversees the processing and implementation of all PPP projects;
(f) Advises Management on appropriate rent and fees to be charged to entities wishing to rent space or operate within UDSM premises;
(g) Ensures that UDSM gets due and timely payments as per contracts and therein conditions are followed;
(h) Oversees the operation of all University investment and income generation projects;
(i) Plans and implements cost-cutting measures for the University in collaboration with the Director of Planning and Development;
(j) Prepares reports, data, and information related to investment and income generation at the University;
(k) Serves as secretariat to committees responsible for investment and income generation;
(l) Performs any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Deputy
Vice Chancellor - Administration.

NB: The appointment of Director of Investment and Income Generation is for a period of four years including a one year probation period and is renewable based on performance.

REMUNERATION
Attractive package will be offered to the right candidate commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience and in accordance with Government Circulars and directives.
