The Clinton Development Background:
The Clinton Development Initiative (CDI) develops and operates agribusiness projects that empower smallholder farmers to increase their economic potential. In Malawi, Tanzania, and Awanda, CDI integrates commercial farms and other agribusinesses with smallholder outreach to increase smallholder farmers’ access to local markets and enable them to participate equitably in those markets. CD l’s mode puts farmers first by increasing their access to knowledge, inputs, services, and markets to improve their crop yields and increase and diversify their incomes. CDI works in close collaboration with governments, nongovernmental organizations, social investors, and farmer organizations.

Title: Senior Mechanics Officer (1 position)
Location: Kilolo-Iringa Region

Position Description:
The Senior Mechanics Officer is responsible for repair and maintain motor vehicles, motorcycles, tractors and all farm equipment in addition to any restorative or innovative adjustments to equipment needed to carry out the required work of Equipment needed by the Engineering Manager. Shall supervise and manage his/her workshop, ensuring it is clean, efficient and effective at all times. Secondary roles includes driving tractors and farm machinery when required and supervising hand labor.
The senior mechanics paramount, under the supervision of the Assistant Farm Manager, will ensure all Anchor Farm operations are running smoothly and not being affected by mechanical issues.

Required Skills & Experience:
• Minimum requirement Grade 1 or two Trade Test, clean driving license for truck and tractors; experience of managing staff of up to 20 direct reports. 5 years in a similar position, with minimum 3 working in a farm setting 6 to 10 years in a similar position. Diploma in Mechanics preferred,

Skills
• Knowledge of Tractors and Farm Machinery,

• Ability to Direct, Work Independently, Multi-Task, etc.

• High levels of integrity and fast thinker

• Good physical condition, hands on experience in operating and repairing farm equipment and vehicles.

• Able to trouble shoot vehicle and equipment problem

• Good management skills

• Courteous in all the internal and external interactions;

• Honesty, integrity, dedication, and sincerity

• Flexibility to work on weekend, nights, and off peak hours, sometimes with very minimal advance notice; be on call for breakdowns on farm and out of farm 24hrs;

• Able to communicate in English and Swahili and to understand and execute complex instructions.
