Job Title: WASH Coordinator

Location: Kibondo Refugee Project in North-western Tanzania

Reports To: Refugee Emergency Project Manager Initial Employment Contract: Initially Five months

Background:

Tanganyika Christian Refugee Service (TCRS) was established in 1964, primarily to provide humanitarian assistance during the tremendous influx of refugees fleeing from the many surrounding countries in civil strife, into this relatively peaceful country in the region.

TCRS is currently implementing Refugee and Development projects in different parts of Tanzania.

TCRS hereby invites highly competent, experienced, committed and motivated professionals to fill the mentioned vacant position of Water,Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) Coordination that exists in North-western Tanzania.

Job Summary:

The Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Coordinator will lead the TCRS WASH response in Kibondo Refugee Project. The WASH Coordinator will have responsibility for project design, implementation, quality assurance, monitoring, staff supervision, coordination with other partners and timely reporting of WASH activities carried out during the emergency. The WASH Coordinator will ensure consistency, timely and quality implementation and reporting of WASH activities.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years WASH management experience

• Degree in engineering/water/environmental and sanitation.

• Demonstrated experience in leadership and management linked

to Water, Sanitation and Hygiene promotion.

• Strong leadership, coordination and interpersonal skills, including verified success in leading the work involving people with mixed cultural backgrounds.

• Demonstrated ability with project grants management, including project design, budget preparation, expenditure tracking, monitoring and ability to work in emergency situations.

Oral and written fluency in Kiswahili and English. French is an added advantage.
